Northeast Florida Internal Medicine is a Jacksonville, Florida based Internal Medicine practice with a reputation for catering to the comprehensive and individual needs of their patients. Having been in practice for 30 years, Dr. Blissenbach leads an experienced medical team of support staff and Providers most of whom have been with the practice for more than a decade. Dr Blissenbach and her medical team  are dedicated to providing high level, quality care for a diversity of medical conditions including Lyme Disease , Weight Loss Management, Hormone Replacement (HRT) including Pellet treatment, ADD/ADHD and Preventative Health Care.

Dr. Blissenbach, as well as her staff, are well known for providing a unique atmosphere where every patient is seen as part of our family. Each patient is given the time and dedication they need to feel like they are thoroughly involved in the decision making process regarding their individual needs. Our goal at Northeast Florida Internal Medicine is to make our patient’s experience as convenient and stress free as possible. We therefore offer many services in our office to achieve that goal. Among those services are diagnostic testing for Echo, Carotid Dopplers , Renal Ultrasounds, ANS testing, Metabolic Rate testing, Bone Density testing (DXA), IV Vitamin and Glutathione infusions, immunizations as well as in office blood drawing. And for the convenience of patients we offer Telemedicine as well as In-Office visits.

Dr. Elyssa Blissenbach initially began her career 30 years ago in primary care. Several years later she experienced a pivotal and challenging encounter with a patient in her practice who was to forever alter her path. This patient was also a medical provider in the community and she was critically ill with Lyme disease. It was then clear that her passion for helping patients needed to expand to those suffering from Lyme disease and its confections…the patients that had been misdiagnosed, overlooked and simply dismissed by the medical community. At that point she was compelled to dive deeper into the world of chronic tick-borne illnesses. Over the past 10 years, she has dedicated herself fully to this specialty, developing a highly personalized, investigative approach informed by extensive research and close observation of complex patient cases.

Dr. Blissenbach is a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) and is at the forefront of Lyme disease following protocols from leading experts such as Dr Horowitz, Dr. Rawls, Dr. Marty Ross, and many others. She regularly attends ILADS conferences, is a member of ILADS and is actively working toward ILADS certification.

Dr. Blissenbach is amongst the small number of practitioners in the country and is the only practitioner in Jacksonville, using Dr. Horowitz’s advanced High Dose Combination Therapy Dapsone Protocol. She also recognizes that every patient is unique and therefore offers a variety of integrative treatment plans that are customized for each individual, blending herbal and antibiotic options as well as IV antibiotics and IV Vitamin Infusions, all based on gut health, severity of illness, and patient preferences. She is also licensed in the states of FL, GA, SC, AL, VA, and NC allowing her to expand her expertise to more of those in need.
